Honolulu Museum of Art

Honolulu Museum of Art is an exceptional place to see art. The Honolulu Museum of Art has an enormous collection of over one hundred and fifty thousand paintings. The Museum is the biggest of its type in the state and was established in 1922 by Anna C. Rice Cooke. It was meant to be a temporary museum while the State of Hawaii was being built. Unfortunately, the building was destroyed during the earthquake that devastated the area.

Free Classes About Arts

Students can take several art classes that will help them improve their skills in the decorative arts. Some of these classes include courses on ancient Chinese art, the history of the Polynesian culture, and even classes on how to preserve cultural or art-specific artifacts. These art classes are offered both in the morning and evening and are held at various locations around the island. There are also summer art camps and school trips that allow students to explore the island and its multiple cultures. There are also a Hawaiian cultural museum as well as a science centre on the island.

Some free evening art classes are available for visitors who would like to explore more of the Honolulu Museum of Art and its collections. These classes are taught by Robert Allerton, a professor of art at the University of Hawaii. The Museum also has a summer program that allows high school students to participate in exciting activities while gaining valuable experience.

2 Great Museum

Just a short walking distance from the Honolulu Museum of Art are two other great museums.

1. The Hanauma bay National Park offers visitors the chance to view thousands of fossilized shells in the Hanauma Bay Formation.

2. The Na Pali Coast Museum also features numerous exhibits and works of art. Both the Hanauma and Na Pali coast museums are near the Honolulu Museum of Art, so it is so convenient to visit both museums when visiting Honolulu.

Hawaii Educational Tour

Travelling exhibitions are an excellent way to find the Honolulu Museum of Art and its various exhibitions. These travelling exhibitions are great ways to learn about the rich history of the Islands and the art of Hawaii. In addition to travelling exhibitions, there are also special education programs that teachers and parents can take their children to. For example, the Hawaii Educational tour and the Hawaii Island Theater Festival are two great ways to learn about the Islands' rich history and see some of the outstanding artistic presentations of local and international artists.

Teachers can benefit from taking a particular education class in Honolulu that focuses on Native American art. The Special Education and Literacy Center at the Hawaii Islands College offers courses in many disciplines, including art. One such class in the Honolulu Museum of Art focuses on the work of legendary artist Kapiolan Kauffman. Kapiolani was one of the most respected native Hawaiian artists. His work is widely displayed in homes and museums throughout the United States.

Impressive Collection Of Honolulu Museum of Art

The Honolulu Museum of Art has an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, including art from the Honolulu Collections Society. If you visit Honolulu in November, then you should not miss the annual exhibit of fifty thousand works of art, entitled Art in Honolulu. Other important exhibitions include the Oahu Aau Cruises exhibition and the annual Honolulu Arts Festival. In addition, the Honolulu Museum of Art sponsors various public programs, including musical theatre and lectures. These public programs help visitors to improve their knowledge of art and culture in Honolulu.

If you're interested in purchasing artwork for your home or office, you might want to visit the Honolulu Museum of Art and buy items from the art collection. One option is to buy an album with paintings of local artisans. In addition, the Honolulu Museum of Art has a gift shop that sells paintings, sculptures, glassware, glass beads, jewellery, pottery, glassware, and furniture. You can find beautiful contemporary and traditional images at the shop.
